Day 1 – Saturday 8 July – Adelaide (D)

Upon arrival at Adelaide Airport transfer by private coach to your accommodation. Enjoy a welcome dinner with the group at the hotel this evening.

Day 2 – Sunday 9 July – Adelaide – The Ghan (B,L,D)

After Breakfast enjoy a short city tour of Adelaide before transferring to the Adelaide Parklands Terminal.

It’s all aboard as the Legendary Ghan departs for Alice Springs at 12.20pm

After boarding, your first day on the Ghan begins with a light lunch in the Restaurant Car as you travel north towards Spencer Gulf and Port Augusta.

Settle into your Gold Service Sleeper Cabin or enjoy a drink with your new found friends in the Outback Explorer Lounge

Day 3 Monday 10 July – The Ghan – Alice Springs (B,D)

Set foot in the remote reaches of northern South Australia to witness an unforgettable Outback sunrise as part of the Ghan’s new dawn stop at Marla. After lunch the Ghan arrives in Alice Springs.  You have time to look around the town or enjoy an off train excursion tour (reservations may be made on-board the train) Re-board the train and enjoy the desert scenery as you continue your journey north.

Day 4 – Tuesday 11 July – The Ghan – Katherine & Darwin (B,L)

In the morning, stopover in Katherine and choose from several off train excursion tours including a boat cruise on the famous Katherine Gorge or a coach tour of the town and surrounds.

At 1pm re-board The Ghan for your journey north through the lunch, Top End countryside before arriving in Darwin at 5.30pm.On arrival you will be met and  transferred by private coach to your accommodation for the next three nights

Day 5 – Wednesday 12 July Darwin – Half Day City Sights and Harbour Dinner Cruise (B,D)

After breakfast, depart the hotel for a city sights tour by private coach – the perfect introduction to Darwin. See the Chinese Temple and the lush Botanical Gardens. Tour the historic sites of the city including East Point Military Precinct, the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the Mooring Basin. There is also time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory before returning to the hotel by 12:30pm.

On conclusion of your sightseeing tour transfer back to your hotel, afternoon at leisure.

At 17:00 transfer by mini coaster/coach to Strokes Hill Wharf for your ‘Charles Darwin’ Sunset Dinner Cruise.

The Dinner Cruise aboard the “Charles Darwin” is a great way to get a bird’s eye view of the famous Darwin Sunset whilst enjoying a delicious Territory Style Buffet with Australian Seafood and Local produce all in air-conditioned comfort.  This two-hour cruise on the “Charles Darwin’s” Captains Deck (main Deck) .

Day 6 Thursday 13 July Darwin – Free Day (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a day to explore Darwin – or join in a optional tour to Tiwi Island (please see below for details).

Day 7 Friday 14 July 3 Day Extended tour to Kakadu (B)

After Breakfast, depart Darwin for your 3 day tour to Kakadu

Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise (1 hour)

Join Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruises on a Crocodile Cruise which will equip you with the knowledge to survive your stay in the NT. 100,000 crocodiles roam the Territory’s waterways yet are rarely seen. Here they swim to the boats and jump for their food – an awesome display! The experienced crew will give you an insight into how elusive crocodiles are, and demonstrate their awesome jumping ability. We then visit Nourlangie Rock to  explore the huge natural shelter, the walls adorned with layer over layer of superb Aboriginal rock art depicting thousands of years of Ancient history – dream tales. This afternoon we visit Bowali Visitors Centre and have lunch before transferring to your hotel.

Day 8 Saturday 15 July  (continued) (B)

Yellow Water Cruise 2 Hour – 6:45am departure -1 cruise

Collection this morning by private coach for your Yellow Waters cruise. This cruise will enable you to see many varieties of birds and also the saltwater crocodiles at a safe distance.  Next we move on to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre here you will become familiar Aboriginal traditions and Myths.  We visit Jabiru, before we stop at Ubirr Rock to view Aboriginal Rock art and view spectacular views of the wetlands. On completion we make our way along the Arnhem Highway for our overnight accommodation.

Day 9 Sunday 16 July – Kakadu Touring (continued) (B)

Next we depart travelling along the Arnhem Highway stopping at Fogg Dam.  We make our way back to the hotel arriving at approximately 1600.

Day 10 Monday 17 July Darwin – Full Day 

Litchfield Tour (B,L)

After breakfast, enjoy a full day Litchfield Waterfalls tour. Spend the day exploring Litchfield National Parks spectacular waterfalls and cascades and see the amazing magnetic and cathedral termite mounds. BBQ lunch @ Litchfield café.

Day 11 Tuesday 18 July Darwin Departure (B)

Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel before enjoying a free day in Darwin.  A Late check out is included at your hotel before being transferred to Darwin Airport.

DESCRIPTION: Ferry Crossing to Bathurst Island

Today you’re up early to get started on a day that you’ll long remember. Make your own way to Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal to board your ferry – the “Pacific Cat” and after a 2 hour cruise you’ll arrive at Bathurst Island. Upon arrival at the Aboriginal community of Nguiu on Bathurst Island you will meet your Local Guide who will take you on a journey through the progressive, modern day Aboriginal community of Nguiu (Wurrumiyanga).

Morning Tea with the Tiwi Ladies

At morning tea you can enjoy billy tea and damper whilst we spend time with some Tiwi ladies while they work on their weaving and painting. Your guides and the ladies will also  demonstrate their totem dances and perform a smoking ceremony to bless their visitors and explain the meanings behind them.

The Museum

Visit the museum with its interesting displays of traditional art and depictions of the Tiwi ‘Dreamtime’ stories and the Early Mission Precinct with its unique Tiwi style Catholic Church. Hear about the early mission days and learn how the Tiwi people have blended their culture with Christianity.

Arts and crafts co-operatives

You will also be taken through the world renowned Tiwi arts and crafts co-operatives and see where the artists work and possibly see some of them at work. You also have the opportunity to purchase Tiwi arts and crafts and screen-printed fabric at Island prices.

Pukamani Poles (burial poles)

Stop at a picturesque lookout, which is the setting of a Tiwi burial site where we can learn some of the complex rituals associated with the Pukamani Poles (burial poles), before being taken back to the ferry landing to re-board your vessel, departing Bathurst Island for Darwin at 3pm.

Please note: Lunch can be purchased back on board the vessel after your morning touring on the island.

A non-refundable booking deposit of $1000 per person is required within 3 days of confirmation. A completed booking form is also required.

Final Payment

The balance of your reservation will be required by the 25 May 2016.


Once final payment is received amendments will incur $150 fee per amendment.

After Final payment – There will be no refund of your deposit, in addition to any fees imposed by the Supplier, which may be up to 100% of monies paid.


Travel insurance is strongly recommended.  Travel and Cruise will be able to assist with arranging this. If insurance is not being held with Travel & Cruise we will require details of insurance

Upon check-in many hotels require a security bond in the form of a credit card imprint.
